“Long enough to get high on a Wednesday?” Kon asked, eyes glancing over at the vape pen resting on the bedside table. He couldn’t stop himself from laughing. “Couldn’t even wait until Friday?”
“No time on Fridays,” Tim shook his head slowly and then reached out to fumble with the pen on the table next to him, “That’s when all the criminals are out… s’ like they got day jobs or something.”

“It looks like the tile was—” Kon turned around, his knuckles braced on the floor for balance as he twisted back to look at Tim. His face came to rest right in front of Tim’s crotch, him kneeling on the ground, putting him at just the right height. Tim hadn’t meant to get that close, and clearly, Kon was expecting him to be further back, his eyes widening for a moment. He trailed off before he could even get the rest of his sentence out.
Tim looked down at him. Kon was crouched in front of him, his face only a few inches away from his crotch. Kon took a breath and let it out slowly, eyes drifting up and down to make eye contact with Tim from the floor, hands resting lightly in his lap. The room was almost uncomfortably hot and stuffy.
Tim let the silence hang.

Lois stares at the screen for a few seconds until the word Seen appears under the picture. She places her phone on the dresser next to the mirror, and waits.
Nothing for a few heartbeats.
Then, she hears the whoosh she’s so used to hearing, the sound of air being pushed aside, and she feels the familiar heat against her back; she lets herself melt into the feeling without even looking up. Strong arms wrap around her and pull her close, one big hand traveling up her chest to gently cup the underside of her right breast as the other spreads wide across her stomach. The scent of him fills her senses, making her feel truly at home. Her gaze flicks up to see him in the red and blue—Superman, in all his glory, all hers.

“We don’t have to if you don’t want to!” Clark was quick to insist, turning to face her with all the seriousness as if they were making a plan to save the world. Lois wrung her hands together until she felt her knuckles pop.
“I just…” Lois had a lot of things to say to air out all the anxieties that bubbled up in her chest but for once, she had no idea how to get the words out. “This is serious, this is real… This is like… The next big step.”
