Summary
Four years pre-canon, Stolas clumsily extracts Fizz from a tense situation, and they form a cautious friendship. It isn't long before Stolas catches feelings, but it isn't as if anything will come of them. He's married, and Fizzarolli is obviously in a loving relationship with the King of Lust. Stolas is just grateful to have a friend at all.
Fizz has no idea how he stumbled into a friendship with a dark prince of hell, especially since he's already years into a totally not-romantic friends-with-benefits arrangement with a Deadly Sin. Shit's wild. Still, he can roll with it. As long as he keeps his gig with Mammon, he can almost convince himself he deserves their time—even if the stakes get higher as both relationships grow more intense.
(At least Blitzo is permanently and unarguably, 100%-without-a doubt out of Fizz's life. The last thing he needs is that asshole showing up and making everything more complicated...)

Summary
"You don't know me!"
It was something that Angel Dust said often. The tone of the phrase varied depending on the situation; smug in response to some genuine compliment, bitter in response to a sarcastic jibe, and angrily offended following an assumption. It was obviously something that Angel Dust held as a deep-seated belief about other people. He seemed blind to the irony that someone who seemed to take pride in displaying every curve, crevice, and hole on display in every dirty mag, flashing billboard, and porn pop-up on the internet could possibly hide anything from anyone. The idea of someone who had “bared it all" professionally for over seventy years having any secrets seemed ludicrous. Angel Dust was impulsive, hedonistic, and quick-witted, with a bacchanalian predilection for addiction and pleasure. Everyone could tell that under the street smarts and sharp wit was a bruised and damaged center poorly hidden by a mask of cavalier flirting and raunchy banter within an hour of true conversation with the spider demon. His “secret” self simply wasn’t much of a secret. Everybody knew Angel Dust.
Or so everyone thought.

Summary
Alastor had been at the Hazbin Hotel for barely three months, and he was already bored. Violently so. Nights were the worst, of course, with all other denizens of the hotel shuffled off to bed. Normally he would read, or listen to his records, or plan his next broadcast, or go for a wander in the bayou. But with things as they were, he found he was quite exhausting his interest for such diversions during the day. So he wandered in the shadows, half-corporeal and only half-cognizant, flitting from room to room like a hummingbird starving to death among shrivelled flowers.
That was how he came to see Angel Dust kicking the front door open at 2:32 in the morning.

It's just that the more visible things like his hair and clothes get priority, and by the times he realizes what a disaster his living space has become, or even worse, his wings...
Things were easier when he was living alone and there was nobody else around to notice things like the powder down that he scatters all over the place when he hasn't preened himself properly in too long. At least, they were until someone reaches out a helping hand.

Before he sets off to make things work on his own, Fizz tracks down Blitzo to hear his side of the story, only to find his former friend has done a lot less moving on than expected.
He agrees to stay at Blitzo's apartment for one night, to be practical. Then proceeds to never leave.

Valentino sighs affectionately, squeezing Alastor’s hand. “He doesn’t mean that.”
“I very much mean that.”
Alastor wants to say something along the lines of “I would be offended by anything less,” but when he tries to speak, all that comes out, horrifyingly, is a crackly sob. But it just makes Vox’s arms tighten around him, so, whatever. There are worse things.
Or: In a softer timeline, Alastor comes home to the Vees when his seven year sabbatical is up.
