but it just so happens that he does have to spend every waking hour with him because he is his best friend and bandmate and dorm mate, and he treats him like an actual good best friend would, and that’s probably what made him fall down the rabbit hole of this dreadful thing we call love.

Summary
Seungmin lives on order, planning, structure. Now, he's not completely irrational— he can't control everything and he's made peace with that— but he can damn well try. That is, until he injured his foot god knows how long ago. His life, since then, has been a mix of failed productivity and pity. All he wants is for it to stop.
To celebrate SKZ Code's 100th episode, Jeongin practically got the entire city of Busan all for him. The members were excited and prepared to give him the best experience ever. That meant no shenanigans, no nonsense, no pressure. Just Jeongin and his first love.
Seungmin didn't try to cause any problems, and if you asked anyone involved, they would say he didn't. They would rave about Seungmin's diligence, how he's working so hard despite his injury before offering to slow down or let him rest.
He was tired of it all.
Worst part? Not that he couldn't understand the sickening frustration and guilt swirling in his stomach, but that the seeming solution was a certain Busan boy.

“Can’t you just take Minsung? Jisung from IT will whine like a bitch if you go on a double date and don’t take him,” Seungmin says.
“Look. I love Minsung, I do, but they are not on first-date level of romance. It needs to be a couple who’s also on a first date so they can match the vibe, you know?” Felix replies, reaching for the rubber band ball on Seungmin’s desk.
It is instantly confiscated. Felix cannot be trusted with such things, lest he ping one at Seungmin’s head again.

Another satisfying practice had both men covered in sweat and dirt. Their usual uniform these days. “Why are you trying so hard to learn to pitch?”
There was no desire to hit. To run bases. None of the basics. Seungmin had to insist they add catching to the lessons.
It begged the question: Why?
With a sigh Jeongin kicked gravel along the path. “Short version: I don’t want to embarrass myself in front of a lot of people."
The athlete tilted his head, searching for more information without asking. “Like, friends and family? The entire population of Seoul?”
“Yes."
“Going to the Olympics or something?”
“Or something." The idol looked up. “It’s a one time thing. I didn’t have a choice."
“You make it sound serious." Seungmin nodded, leaning against the bus stop pole. “So you’re not trying to join my team and steal my position?”
“What? No!”
“Good." Arms crossed over his chest, Seungmin tried his best to give a smirk. “Because your form sucks. I would be worried if you threw straight."Or
In the aftermath of expectations and exhaustion, Seungmin and Jeongin find each other, learning that love doesn’t need to be perfect, only the courage to keep choosing it.

It wasn't like Jeongin could admit it out loud that yes, he enjoyed it and he probably wasn't as straight as he thought. Not so soon, anyway. He wasn't totally convinced that the kiss indeed happened, and it wasn't a product of his imagination. Jeongin kissed a guy and liked it. And not just any guy, his bandmate, his dorm mate, his friend. Seungmin has just gained one more official title, “his first gay kiss”. And maybe Jeongin could've just gotten over and laughed about it if it hadn't been a good fucking kiss.
"I bet it was good, they were basically devouring eachother. Don't you think Seungmin is more attractive now, Jeongin-ah?" Han insisted.
Well, yes. However, he would rather die than admit that, so what came out of an emotionally triggered Jeongin's mouth was a kindergarden level insult:
"No way. Seungmin is ugly."

Jeongin almost feels guilty, and it frustrates him further when his stomach twists with that familiar sense of dread and sadness. He hated the feeling, hated when tears pricked his eyes unless it was from pleasure. Despises it even more when it's because of this string that holds him and Seungmin together. Secretly afraid that one day it will snap.
Jeongin thinks he is too poisoned to love. Seungmin accepts that poison with open arms.

Jeongin didn’t care about the theoretical soulmate when the person he wanted was sitting in front of him and not shutting up about how nice it would be to know who they were fated to.
