Wilson stays silent and still.
What had he gotten himself into?! He didn't want to tell her. He had just ruined his chances of ever having a somewhat comfortable life in the Constant. Everyone would hate him, and he would be kicked out of the camp- or killed, though that would be a mercy. No, he would have to survive on his own, barely scrape by, fight every time he saw another human.
“There. Done. Now, you want my help with an experiment?”
He's jostled out of his thoughts.
“Uh, yes ma’am. I…”

Don't Starvefic, in which Wilson has generally a bad time. Dealing with the Constant is bad enough, but he's also got to deal with his 1900s internalized homophobia, and his feelings about other men, and a general mental illness as well.

Raz awkwardly held up his cup of water. “I was just, uh, getting... something to drink.”
“I was doing the same exact thing,” Adam commented, finally actually stepping into the kitchen area and getting a glass out of a cupboard. He then moved to the sink and began to fill up the glass. “How come you’re not asleep yet, then? We were just watching a, uh, interesting movie. You could’ve joined us.”
“It seemed pretty awful from what I heard,” Raz replied dryly, saying nothing else.
Adam shrugged. He couldn’t argue with that. “It was funny, though.” He took a sip of his water. “You seem tired,” he commented, trying to imply something here, if Raz would get the hint.
Raz didn’t say anything for a moment. “I am,” he finally said, once again saying nothing else.
(or: during a junior agents sleepover, raz can't sleep for....reasons, and adam helps him out with a little conversation.)

Wilson and Maxwell are re-integrating themselves back into society when something happens that was not often an issue in The Constant itself.
“What is wrong with you?!” Maxwell snaps.
Wilson’s face is still twisted up in agony, but his voice is finally forced into action. He gets stuck on syllables before he can speak.
“Sss-ss t-too loud!” He manages, moving his hands from his hair to cover his ears.
